Soapstone

Soapstone is a naturally occurring metamorphic rock mainly composed of talc, chlorite, dolomite and magnesite. It has a warm, soft feeling to the touch.

Soapstone will oxidize from light to dark in color over time. A light coating of mineral oil will make soapstone’s color and subtle flowing veins more dramatic.

Soapstone is naturally anti-bacterial. It will not stain or burn and requires little maintenance. Acids and alkalis will not etch soapstone.
